Magistrate Office Applications Open!

January 25, 2022

After serving as Defender for two years, DizzyG (ID: 763) has decided not to seek a third term. As the Defender, she represented and guided two of our members through a crucial process in our judicial system. Thank you for your service to Bravo Fleet, Dizzy!

In addition to Dizzy’s departure, Mark (ID: 72) and Kyle (ID: 113) recently assumed positions on Bravo Fleet Command and are thus ineligible to continue serving on the Appeals Panel. Thankfully, Mark and Kyle’s terms were uneventful (as we hope for all tenures on the Appeals Panel). Their service to Bravo Fleet is greatly appreciated!

With the recent departures from the Magistrate Office, we are now seeking three members to fill key positions in our community’s judicial system!

Defender

The position of Defender is a critical one in Bravo Fleet’s Magistrate process. It is the Defender’s job to make certain that the rights of any member accused of a rules violation are upheld, and to advocate for those members’ interests through the process. The Defender is also expected to advise the accused and help them navigate the process, and to maintain contact with the rest of the Magistrate team while doing so. The Bravo Fleet Defender should have a strong understanding of the fleet’s Charter and Magistrate Policy and be skilled at arbitration.

Appeals Panel

Positions on the Appeals Panel are open to anyone who has been a member of Bravo Fleet for a year or more who is not a member of Bravo Fleet Command. Members of the Appeals Panel should have strong understanding of the Magistrate Code and the rights of members, because it falls to them to determine if the Magistrate Code was properly followed during a case.

If you are interested in any of these positions, you can apply here. Applications will remain open until Thursday, February 3. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on Discord at @Nadzieja#1701 or email me at magistrate@bravofleet.com. Thank you!
