The Intelligence and Logistics Office are pleased to announce a new addition to Bravo Fleet’s roster of starship classes! The Protostar-class has warped in at top speed, and a selection of ships in the registry are now available for any member to purchase.
Brought to our screens by Star Trek: Prodigy, the USS Protostar herself was built as a small, sleek explorer carrying experimental technology, but made her name as the home of a group of rag-tag misfit (eventual) cadets. Only two of these ships were built in the 2380s, before construction was cancelled after the Attack on Mars and Starfleet’s turn away from missions of exploration. Now, at the dawn of the 25th century, a new range of Protostar-class ships are being commissioned. The experimental “Proto-Warp” drive has been shelved, too dangerous and volatile for general rollout, but they serve as long-range scouts and explorers, and as training vessels for elite cadets.
The Protostar-class carries a small crew, but is a robust long-range explorer and versatile ship. She makes the perfect platform for stories about small ensembles who may still want to venture deeper into the galaxy, unreliant on larger ships or starbases for support. This sets her apart from other ships with similarly small crews, like the Raven, Phoenix, or Osler classes, and she offers a more classic ‘starship’ profile, like a true Trek ‘hero ship.’ Whether she’s crewed by curious explorers, dedicated scouts, or plucky young cadets, wherever you’re going, the Protostar will be there – and Go Fast.
The Protostar-class can be purchased from the Fleet Marketplace for 30,000 prestige.
