Borg? They’re Back!

November 12, 2015

(Starbase 400-Stardate 69121.1) BORG! This is Joseph Cronkite reporting. During the night, several ships departed from Starbase 400, including the Pegasus, Essex, Yorktown, Saratoga, and Venator. We’ve also noticed the rest of Starbase 400’s support ships either assuming orbit of the Station or departing as well. This morning we’ve learned why from several sources.

During the night the Century class USS Houston was attacked and presumably destroyed by Borg vessels in Sector 1372.

Everyone was of the same belief that the Borg were annihilated and absorbed into the Caeliar Gestalt in late 2381, but now that appears to be untrue. It is not clear at this time if the Borg that attacked the USS Houston are apart of the infamous Borg Collective that brought fear into the hearts of people across the Galaxy for centuries, rogue Borg starting their own Collective, or even liberated Borg but Starfleet isn’t taking any chances. Not only is the Task Force from Starbase 400 on site in Sector 1372, but Starfleet defenses across the Federation are on high alert.

We will continue to follow up on these events, and more, as details become available. Until then, I’m Joseph Cronkite for the Federation News Service.
