The Star Trek Holiday Special Soundtrack

Description

The Star Wars Holiday Special is in the cultural history of science fiction and music.  What place it holds or what quality it is varies.  Today, your task is to take on the special task of The Star Trek Holiday Special – specifically the music.

You will have access to the entirety of the Holiday Song Catalog from the December – January season.  Your task is to take an existing Holiday Song and transform its title into a Star Trek Song worthy of including in the special.  Examples like

Santa, bring me a Tractor Beam This year

Grandma Warped Over Santa In A Defiant-class.

I want a Fat One For Christmas; only a Galaxy Class Will Do

You can flip a song – much like the Grandma Song – the old lady is having her revenge in the future! Think beyond just replacing word for word – the more creative and interesting, the better!  You must list at least 5 songs with Star Trek Modified titles for this competition.  Don’t forget traditional songs from Christmas, New Year’s, and Hanukkah Songs.  It’s a big catalog to select from! Good Luck!

After grades and awards are complete, results will be posted in Bravo Fleet’s “BravoFleet” discord channel. If you do not want your submission to be published, you must clearly indicate your choice in your submission to the competition.

Criteria

  • You must give the original song title that you’ve upgraded. Submissions without the original song title will not be judged.
  • Points will be awarded for originality and unique song titles. Each song is worth 8 pts.
  • Original Song Included in Submission (2 pts)
  • Modified Song title is original, and unique. Avoids copy pasting and is creative in how it adapts the original song title. (6 pts)
  • Score percentage will be tabulated to award the first, second, and third place.
  • Using generative AI in this competition is forbidden.
  • Submissions are to be turned in to the text box for the competition. This is not a BFMS centric comp.
