Everyone Starts Somewhere

Sure, you’re a Captain now. You command a starship and oversee the lives of many Officers. However, you haven’t always been a Commanding Officer, heck you haven’t always been in the Senior Staff. Everyone’s career started somewhere; an Ensign fresh from the Academy. Your Academy path started you on an adventure that led to the center chair of a starship.

For this competition, write a post of at least 500 words describing your character’s very first assignment. Fresh from the Academy, this is your first day as an Officer in Starfleet. This is your very first ship.

Was your character posted to a ship on the frontier? Did your first assignment involve a front-line battle, or something far less adventurous? Only you can tell us your story.

Criteria

• Submissions should be sent through BFMS, and a link to the story should be included as the entry.
• All submissions should have a minimum length of at least 500 words.
• Submissions will be graded based on the Bravo Fleet Fiction Rubric.
