TF9’s Ferengi Week: Flash Fiction Contest
Description
Ferengi Week: Flash Fiction Contest
“Home is where the heart is, but the stars are made of latinum.” – 75th Rule of Acquisition
Flash fiction, which includes vignettes, is a very short narrative that captures a moment or an image in words. Here we have a lovely scene created by JetFreak that will inspire your piece of flash fiction. Your entry can be related in any way to the image presented but must be 300 words or less. Brevity, as they say, is the soul of wit!
Criteria
- Entries must be 300 words or fewer. Submission directly into the competition box is preferred, but you may link to a Google Doc or other web document as long as the sharing is set correctly; invalid links will not be judged.
- Entries must be related to the image, but need not describe the scene, as they can instead be inspired by it. The connection between the story and the image must be clear.
- Entries are not required to have a beginning, middle, and end (i.e. a narrative) but they should contain a complete thought or moment.
- Entries will be judged on creativity, adherence to Star Trek canon, style, and adherence to the prompt. Grammar and spelling will not be important judging criteria but will be used to break ties.
