Description

Are you ready to dive deep into the emotions that power the stars themselves? Write a love poem from one of your characters to another. Express the feelings, desires, and dreams between your two characters in your own unique poetic form – Whether it’s unspoken admiration, undying loyalty, or a tale of star-crossed love, let your heart guide your words!

Criteria

  • Poems must be written from the perspective of one character to another.
  • The maximum word limit is 200 words.
  • Poems can be in any style: from traditional sonnets to free verse. Be as creative as you wish!
  • Submissions will be judged on creativity, use of language, and adherence to prompt

Dear Areinnye,

The first thing I noticed about you was your eyes,
Crystal blue like the oceans of earth. Gentle but powerful.
The fire they hold like a Klingon ready for battle
That was the first thing I noticed about you.

The second thing I noticed about you was your loyalty,
You went through so much as a child, A war, losing your homes.
Your loyalty to your people is something that I admire.
I admire you so much.

The third thing I noticed Is how you command.
When you are in command you lead with the aggression of a lioness,
When you are in diplomacy you lead with the grace of a swan and the voice of an angel.
You are a warrior in both battle and diplomacy.

I guess what I am trying to say is,
You inspire me to be myself in the face of adversity.
I love you with all my heart and I will follow you to the end.
