Living With Legacy

Description

The idea of ‘legacy’ was thematically very important to the third season of Picard, with the Titan-A and Enterprise both making appearances and Picard focusing on his legacy both as a Starfleet Captain but also as a father, and Locutus of Borg.

Our characters in Bravo Fleet can also be aware of legacy, whether that’s their own future legacies, the legacy of their parents, or even of the ships they serve on. In this competition think of how legacy affects your characters. Are they trying to live up to previous generations, are they serving on a ship named after a great explorer, or a naval ship from ancient Earth? Are they rebelling against their own past, and escaping life as a diplomat to join Starfleet?

Write an entry with one of your characters, or someone on your command, grappling with their own relationship to legacy and history. Are they the first in their family to leave their home planet? Are they returning to their familia world after hundreds of year (ex. a human’s first time on Earth)? Are they touring the fleet museum and accidentally knocking displays over Voyager? Write what you feel and tackle the idea of legacy from whatever angle you want.
