Science Your Way Through It

Description

Sometimes Science is hard to talk about and the information can be complex, but just as life finds a way somehow Science does the same. This challenge is going to be an incredible look at your way of getting through a situation.

The story will be based on a time your character in their Starfleet career have had to use Science to get through a situation or a conversation with someone who knows Science. This means your character might not know Science well, but they persuade others they know exactly what they are talking about. This story is to be written from the point of view of your character.

This story must be a minimum of  1,500 words and a maximum of 3,000 words. It can be any character within your BFMS dossier.

Criteria

  • Stories should be submitted directly to the BFMS, and your entry should be a link to the published story. Stories should be at least 1,500 words and no more than 3,000 words. Word count must be given at competition submission.
  • Stories will be graded in accordance with the Bravo Fleet Fiction Rubric, which marks on the following criteria: Language, Style, & Mechanics; Adherence to Canon; Perspective; Characterization; Originality; Use of the Prompt.
  • This story must be created after this competition opens and before it closes, so as not to reuse any existing stories. This will be judged based on the publication date of the story within the BFMS.
  • Your story must be a single-author post, not a joint post.
  • Using generative AI for this competition is forbidden through BF policy.
