Thabo Xhakaza

Thabo Xhakaza is a bright and promising young officer catapulted into starship command by the crisis of Frontier Day. Originally assigned to the USS Swiftsure as her executive officer to learn under her seasoned captain, the deaths aboard and across the Federation forced Starfleet to fill personnel gaps with younger, promising officers. He briefly served as the Swiftsure’s captain before he and many of his crew were transferred to the USS Ranger, an older ship of exploration to meet a more traditional mission deemed more suitable for their experience.

Despite his talents and rapid ascension through the ranks, Commander Xhakaza is humble, kind, and thoughtful. He epitomises the spirit of Starfleet, eager for missions of exploration and spreading the Federation’s values. He knows he has not yet been truly tested, and that he is in his position through both luck and tragedy. Nevertheless, he has helped to shape the young crew of the Ranger in the aftermath of crisis, pulling them together to face the future.

Everything a young captain should be, Xhakaza is either easily liked for his good nature and strong moral compass, or irritatingly successful and painfully sincere.
