Appearance
Sable is tall, muscular of build, and wears her hair short and natural. She has a dazzling smile, and carries herself with good posture.
Personality
On duty, Sable is professionalism personified. A photographic memory and gregarious demeanor help her in what is often a very demanding position. Her motto is that “A good security officer knows every face on the ship, but a good operations officer knows how each of those people take their coffee.” Which is reflective of the interpersonal skills she cultivates to effectively do her job.
Off duty, Colville enjoys ballet (Ballenchine), reading (Edith Wharton and Jane Austen), and learning about alien civilizations and cultures.
History
Sable was born in Pretoria, South Africa. Her mother is a retired Starfleet Fleet Captain, while her father is a Primo Ballerino Assolut at the Vienna State Opera. Their only child, Sable often had trouble connecting with children her own age, preferring instead the company of adults.
In order to be taken seriously, she became something of a perfectionist. Even now, she often lays out her clothes for the next day before going to bed. Ballet being something she was exposed to early in life, she came to enjoy the routine and structure it offered. After her primary education she even considered following her father into professional ballet as a career. But ultimately, the appeal of Starfleet’s possibilities became impossible for her to ignore.
