Dalaa

Completely unlike any female of her species that one is likely to have encountered, Ensign Dalaa is a kind, caring and considerate individual. Concerned only with honoring the memory of the family left behind to a life of slavery, Dalaa is intent on using her path to Starfleet as a way to one day return home and free her family… if any remain. In the meantime, a passion for strategy and tactics, coupled with the strength afforded to her by her species (despite her shorter stature), ensures that a successful career in strategic operations or tactical beckons.

Serene and placid on the surface, Dalaa is the complete opposite of what would be accepted societal norms for an Orion female. She is a very calming individual and for people of her kind, that can come across as a weakness. To underestimate her is folly, however. A life in Starfleet has always been the youngsters dream, with Dalaa favouring conversation and diplomacy over the physical confrontation her species so often employ, but she is a more than capable strategist and tactician, having read many books, studied many scholars and putting it all to use to escape slavery on her homeworld. In recent years, as she has struggled to deal with the emotions of being left alone following her escape, and she has had to contend with some of the most intense, passionate emotions she has ever experienced.

Charming and easy to get on with, Dalaa is fiercely loyal to her friends and family and her biggest regret in life is not being able to give her family the life now afforded to her. It is a regret she has struggled to come to terms with, but one she is starting to accept, and realises that she would have been foolish to act in such a way that would have seen her remain a prisoner on Orion.

Dalaa is a talented pilot, having flown her way out of trouble on many an occasion. Kind and caring, she is more than willing to simply listen to a person’s woes and be there to support them. Compassion, as she was always taught by her parents, was a trait to be commended.

Despite being easy to get on with, Dalaa has little in the way of a sense of humour and struggles to grasp jokes and pranks, though less people tend to play pranks on her these days.
