Summary
Maggie was born in France to a single mother. Her mother was a teacher, and her father was in government. They never married, and her father was absent through most of her life. She went to school, and only got mediocre grades through most of it; she was far too distracted by fashion, boys, and makeup to care about academics. When she graduated from high school, she went to college to get an art history degree. She worked for awhile for museums, as a Docent and art buyer. She wanted a bit more from her life, though, so when she was 28, she decided to move to America.
In America, she worked for awhile in museums and schools, teaching people about the art she was passionate about-mostly ancient arts, like the Renaissance greats-things that were almost completely lost in the war. She soon grew bored with this, though, and looking for another path, met the brother of a colleague who introduced her to the Starfleet and all it would offer. She figured it was a good way to get out of her own head, and see the Universe, and so she signed up.
Appearance
Maggie stands 5’7” tall. She is blonde haired, which she wears long and flowing (or pulled back if she’s with higher-ranking folks around). She is very thin, almost TOO thin, as a result of over-exercise and careful dieting (her last mental wellness eval suggested a bit of disordered eating, Maggie disagrees). She wears makeup, usually fairly lightly, because she has clear, porcelain skin and wants to keep it that way.
Personality
Maggie plays the airhead role really well, but it’s just a way to keep people out. She’s actually very intelligent and empathetic, though she’s not a true “empath”. The things that drive her are a passion for doing good, a bit of a sassy streak, and a need to please people, particularly men (low self esteem).
History
Maggie is the only child of a snonworking mother and a politician father. They are divorced, and both are now deceased. She was born in Paris, France on Earth. Her mother and father were both fairly young when she was born; 19 and 21 respectively, and they were poor for years until her father finished school. Her father, Michel-Rene, had aspirations for high political office, though the political landscape of post-war Earth was still tenuous-but his family had all been politicians since the ancient days of the early Twenty-Aughts.
They divorced when she was three, and while her father remarried a woman, Sabine, her mother never remarried, and instead, she worked odd jobs to raise money for Maggie’s care. Her father was mostly absent, sending her lovely gifts for her birthday but otherwise, completely removed from her life.
Maggie had an interest in art and dance from ya young age, and thusly, attended the Sorbonne in Paris, getting a degree in fine arts. She worked in museums and the like, trying to teach young people about her love for art, too. Eventually, she grew bored of this, and moved to California, in the US, and met a few like-minded artists. One of them was the son of a Starfleet officer, and told her a bit about his life growing up in the Fleet. She found this interesting, and investigated it further. She learned she had a head for tactical operations, because her art background helped her to understand abstract concepts.
