Nakil Ga

Son of the Tenth House of Perseverance, Nakil Ga was born at Betazed. His childhood was nothing out of the ordinary, but rather dull in his own fair opinion. The only things that kept him entertained were books and archives of knowledge under his house’s care. Like everyone Betazoid, Nakil was subject to the early educational system, with positive influences on what his people would carry throughout their lifespan as being the peaceful people they are. He showed in his schooling years telepathic skills and trained to master them.

Starfleet Academy (2368-2372)

He would follow in his family’s footsteps and enter Starfleet Academy with a career choice in Science. Like most students, he was doing his studies to become good in what he wanted to become, a Science Officer. Nakil worked his way through the courses and found his passion in Planetology and Geology. While tension was building up in the galaxy, Nakil was enjoying his academy final days. He graduated at the end of his Starfleet Academy and was assigned to the USS Lincoln as their Science Officer.

The Dominion War (2372 – 2377)

The USS Lincoln was involved in mostly patrolling the border at the Romulan Star Empire. Checking on colonies near the borders and helping out civilian ships that needed it. Nakil experienced this mainly as a regular, dull career period, yet that would change quickly enough when the Dominion War started. It was pulled into various combat-related missions to fend off the Dominion from the Federation borders. USS Lincoln gets damaged after their defeat at the Battle of Betazed, which gave an extra brutal emotional hit for Nakil.

Over time, the ship’s morale decreased after the Federation kept losing battles. Until Lincoln got involved in the First Battle of Chin’toka as it was deemed as a significant successful operation. Nakil rose through his rank from Ensign to Lieutenant within those years of the war. He made friends, fell in love, lost those dear to him, and had to grow up quickly. The war ended in 2375 when the Treaty of Bajor became active.

The Lincoln continued its service as Lieutenant Ga became the ship’s Chief Science Officer, and Nakil became heavily involved with the reconstruction efforts at Bajor. Lincoln was assigned to the sector to help transition their application towards the Federation.

The Pilgrim (2377 – 2384)

Lieutenant Commander Nakil Ga was reassigned to Starfleet Colonial Service as coordinator of quick scientific investigation camps. Nakil was quickly gaining the experience of a different side of Starfleet. He would get involved with Starfleet Corps Engineers to help build assignments of various starbases, outposts, or listening beacons on the borders or planets. Nakil main job was to focus on the scientific part of the whole setup. Nakil gained quite some experience during his years in the Colonial Service. Ultimately, Nakil helped resettle Romulans during their impending supernova of the Romulan sun.

The Pioneer (2384 – Present)

Nakil didn’t have a spot to stay for a more extended period. His assignments focused on building Starfleet operations on the frontiers, whether it was starbase building or colonial setup. His most considerable involvement was in a relocation operation of a species that requested assistance from a world calamity on the verge of happening. Though the operation was understaffed, it barely succeeded. However, Nakil carriers that operation upon his heart because he had to witness those he had to leave behind that were taken by the calamity. He swore to himself that it wouldn’t happen again on his service.

He was called upon to serve for something unique and daring that spoke to his experience.  He was called upon to become a Commanding Officer of an outreach operation far on the frontier. Nakil doubted whether it was a call upon his career or to get him away from the recent failure he had to endure. But in the end, he accepted the assignment and took it quite seriously. Upon arrival, Nakil noticed that the outpost was not surveyed correctly as the chosen location was not suitable for settlement due to the earthquakes it endured in that area. Nakil took immediate action and let his team explore a new suitable location while he focused on ground operations and the arrival of new officers/supplies.

However, his command there was short-lived as his experience in the field was needed elsewhere. Starfleet Colonial Operations would need him to lead a team at Avalon Fleet Yards and stamp out the mistakes of earlier colonial operations. Outpost Houtman was made an example due to the wrong location being picked for a settlement. Nakil knew they would send an experienced commander for Outpost Houtman and accepted the challenge at Avalon Fleet Yards.
