Lexie Ward

Lexie Ward graduated Starfleet Academy and was an Ensign on board the USS Ticonderoga as a Communications Officer. She had been assigned to that ship for over two years, but she’d only just recently become involved in her first real mission—a rescue of some scientists who were being held captive by pirates off-planet. It wasn’t exactly what you would call exciting work; it certainly didn’t involve any combat or space battles like other missions did sometimes…but Lexie loved every minute spent working with Captain John “Hutch” Hutchinson, her Commanding Officer. They made up one big family unit aboard their starship. Could say she had a bit of a crush on him.

Upon making the rank of Lieutenant, Lexie Ward transferred from the communications department to another crew position: Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Department. While serving under Captain Hutch’s command again at this new post, they once more became close friends but over the years, Lexie’s career became more serious for her, and when she had the opportunity to become Second Officer and make Lieutenant Commander, she transferred to a different starship serving under Captain David “Duke” Haverford.

While on board the USS Artemis, she found that both the Captain and First Officer ran a tight, strict ship. During her time as Second Officer, she learned to adapt and adjust to being a strict, by-the-book, officer that Captain Haverford molded her into. Over time, she had thought that one day, she would become First Officer under the Captain’s command but one day, Haverford asked her to join him in his ready room and informed her that he wanted her to transfer to a different starship. He explained that she would have a better chance of obtaining a First Officer position somewhere else, as the current First Officer had refused a command position and chose to remain in the current position for several more years, which puts a hinder in Lexie’s chances of advancing in her career.

From that point, she transferred to the Sovereign where she served on board as Second Officer for only a brief amount of time under Captain Vakai, then under Captain Maxwell. After the Sovereign‘s mission in the Delta Quadrant during the Blood Dilithium crisis, she received a request from Captain Gerald Hunt to become his First Officer on Starbase 415, along with a promotion to Commander. At that point, she put in her transfer and is now serving on board Starbase 415.
