Summary
Erik Larsen is currently serving as the Executive Officer of the USS Cygnus. He is the former Chief Science Officer of the ill-fated USS Ascension. He holds a PhD in Physics and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Larsen is the first person since his home colony’s founding to attend Starfleet Academy.
Appearance
Although he is a colonial, Erik Larsen has physical traits that most would associate with Scandinavian heritage. He is of approximately average height at 5’10”, and weighs in the vicinity of 160 pounds. Erik takes his physical training very seriously, so he maintains a better than expected fitness standard for an individual with a background in the sciences. His skin tone is on the paler side, which compliments his sapphire blue eyes and platinum blonde hair nicely. Erik is very meticulous about his uniform appearance, ensuring that all articles of clothing are neat and pressed and his boots are shined to a mirror-like finish before the beginning of each shift. During off duty hours, Larsen prefers comfortable casual wear…usually jeans and a loose shirt, with either sandals or athletic shoes to match.
History
Erik Larsen was born in June of 2351 in the New Denmark district on the independent colony world Europa Nova. He is the eldest of six children, all boys. Like most kids his age, Erik liked to run and play and was a very active youth; he was also a serious student though, uncommonly gifted in mathematics and science. When Erik graduated from Secondary school in 2366 (two years early), his family moved to the planetary capitol of L’Aquila so he could attend the university there.
At the university, Erik once again showed uncommon brilliance. He was a double major in Computer Science and Physics; by 2372, Erik had completed a PhD in Physics and a Master’s in Computer Science. He was offered a teaching position at the University, and stayed there for four years. In 2376, a new planetary government began to open up Europa Nova to outsiders…and Erik met his first non-Humans in the delegation sent by Starfleet. He was taken in by their tales of the wonders in the greater galaxy, and thus became his world’s first student at Starfleet Academy.
