History
Natalya’s life before Starfleet was rather boring. She spent the whole of her youth on the Vega Colony, but always yearned for more. From a young age, she was adept at repairing most of the colony’s vehicles and equipment, always helping her Father whenever she could. Her parents noticed her natural talent, and helped further her aspirations of being an Engineer by ensuring she focussed on her studies in her formative years, before getting her first part-time job on the Colony’s engineering crew at age 16. She was a big help to the colony and was always eager to learn, earning the respect of many of her peers and elders. Outside of her passion for Engineering, she had a keen love for racquetball and spent what spare time she had outside of work and school playing it. She also had a love for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and found herself in the colony’s Holodecks experiencing his timeless stories.
Starfleet
Aged just 19, she studied and applied for Starfleet Academy, hoping to work on McKinley Station as an Engineer. She passed the exam with flying colors and was accepted with an open mind and arms. Her experience for her age was impressive, even to the Academy Commandant. After passing the Academy she proceeded to spend 11 years on the Station. In that time she was promoted four times. Her jobs on the station were vast and never the same, often keeping her busy, but making her station assistant chief. After 11 years, she decided it was time to leave the station and transfer to a starship. The Sovereign Class USS Tiwanaku, attached to the Federation Starbase “Deep Space Nine”. Captained by a man only known as Hawk, and of unknown species and origin, the only one of his kind in Starfleet, Natalya was soon given the opportunity of serving as his Chief Engineering Officer with the rank Lieutenant Commander, to provide valuable insight and input into his recent academy graduate Engineering crew. Natalya taught everything she knew to the Engineering staff on board the Tiwanaku, often being hailed as the power behind the throne. However, after almost four years aboard the Tiwanaku, Natalya received a communication from Bravo Fleet, asking if she would consider transferring to the USS Europa to become the XO. Due to her skill with crews as an Engineer, to which she agreed, despite it meaning she would have to step down as Chief. Though she would be stepping down from Chief she would be gaining more than ever before. Natalya was excited for such an opportunity.
Natlaya was stationed at Starfleet Command to help as a liaison for Engineering. She had worked for a year helping to build the knowledge of engineering with enlisted issues.
The chance to become an XO in training came up and Natlaya took the opportunity to apply and was overjoyed to be accepted. Not sure of the upcoming challeges she was excited for the new experience.
After the chance to train as an XO, Natalya was approached to become the Chief Engineer of a newly established starbase known as Deep Space 27.
