Zared Hyland

Zared Hyland was born in 2371 in the Utopia Colony on Mars. Zared’s parents were employed at the Utopia Planetia shipyards. He was on a field trip to Earth for First Contact Day when the Synth’s destroyed the shipyards and the Martian Colonies. He became an orphan on that day. He felt and saw the pain and suffering. This pushed Zared down the path to helping people through their pain. Rather than being placed with an Earth family, Zared opted for a Starfleet boarding school. This had the added benefit of paving Zared’s way to the Starfleet Academy.

While at Starfleet Academy, Zared excelled in the medical track. As a result, upon graduation from Starfleet Academy, Zared continued his education at the Starfleet Medical Academy. Zared graduated from Starfleet Medical Academy with his doctorate in psychology. His doctoral thesis was on the effects of deep space missions on Starfleet personnel.
