Vaela

Vaela was born in 2377 on Qualor Prime. Ardev was a structural engineer. Vaela’s mother, N’Rela, was a stellar cartographer. Vaela was nine years old when the Star Empire ordered all Romulan’s to leave. Qualor Prime was her home. When the Star Empire ordered her family to leave for seemingly no reason, this affected nine year old Vaela. Her family was relocated to Terix II. They were not relocated with other families from Qualor Prime, the Star Empire went out of their way to separate those who had been exposed to the Federation and possibly corrupted by the Federation. It felt to Vaela like everyone was suspicious of her family. As a result, Vaela didn’t make any friends on Terix II. Her parents felt the same vibe. When the Romulan Star went supernova, Ardev, took the opportunity to move the family out of Romulan Space and back to Qualor Prime.  This time they joined the Federation side of the colony. Because Vaela grew up in and around the Federation, she applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted. While at the Academy, Vaela was good at most of her subjects, but she excelled as a pilot.
