Summary
Enzia Leis has spent her entire Starfleet career aboard the same ship, and has thus far had zero qualms about this. A relatively young officer, she considers herself just starting her career with the fleet, and is excited to go out and see the stars, now that Starfleet has returned to its roots of exploration and scientific discovery.
Enzia has little desire to advance in the ranks, preferring the excitement of lab discoveries and away missions to the excitement of angling for one’s own command.
History
Pre-Starfleet
Enzia’s childhood was one spent dedicated to Academia. From a young age she showed an aptitude for all things math and science related, though the math portions came harder to her than her natural curiosity about the mysteries of the universe.
Enzia attended the Trill Science Academy at the age of 18, and spent three years studying theoretical astrophysics and temporospatial anomalies. At the age of 22, she applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted on a science billing. During the summer between courses, she was accepted by the Symbiosis Commission to be the new host of the Symbiont Leis.
2388-2393
Ensign Enzia Leis was assigned to the USS Venture, on a 5 year scientific cruise. She spent most of this time in the science labs, working on both astrometrics and stellar cartography. She found herself quickly getting into a rhythm aboard the colossal ship, and enjoyed her first cruise as a freshly minted member of Starfleet. In the middle of this cruise, in 2390, she was promoted to Lt(jg) due to both current time in rank, as well as her exemplary work on an away mission to study the affects of a stellar cluster on local flora and fauna.
2393-2399
Enzia spent most of her next five year cruise aboard the Venture on planetary surveys. She enjoyed that she was being offered the ability to expand her scientific horizons, and found that she enjoyed parsing and collating data, as well as being “boots on the ground” to collect the data. In 2395, she was promoted once more to full Lieutenant (as well as placed as the ship’s Assistant Chief Science Officer) owing to her exemplary work with the science team, and having on more than one occasion stepped up to the plate to take command of an away team when no other officer was available. Seeing no reason to leave the ship and captain she had grown accustomed to (and frankly, enjoyed), she signed on for another 5 year cruise at the end of this term.
2399 – Current
At the beginning of the current five year cruise of the Venture, Enzia was once again promoted, this time to Lieutenant Commander, and offered the position of Chief Science Officer. She gleefully accepted.
