Kevin Fleetwood

Kevin Fleetwood was born on 24 August 2121 in Copernicus City, Luna, via surrogate to Alexander Fleetwood and Dale Ibanez. When he was six years old, he moved with his parents to Earth where his father Alexander worked at the Vulcan Embassy. His father Dale was a concert pianist who traveled often across Earth for performances. Kevin spent most of his early childhood  intrigued by the blue jewel that hung in the Lunar sky, and when his family moved to Earth, for the first time he was able to play outside in real air and explore the outdoors.  

Kevin had very little interest in science or anything academic when he was a boy. Although he was intelligent, he preferred playing sports and being outdoors to studying. He was enamoured by the beauty of Earth, a big change from the barren landscape of Luna, and became an avid swimmer and skilled rock climber. Still, the Lunar landscape remained his birthplace and would kindle a fascination with planetary bodies and celestial objects later in his life.

It was during a field trip to Starfleet Academy while he was at school where he first formed a real and tangible interest in science. He only acted on this interest once he left school, however. After his high school graduation, he spent some time travelling, trying to decide what he wanted to do with his life. On his return, he decided to move back to Luna and enrolled in an introductory astrophysics course at the college in Copernicus City. 

At first he wasn’t interested in joining Starfleet and considered joining a civilian exploratory expedition after his studies, but a Starfleet recruiter he kept running into regularly eventually convinced him to seriously consider the excellent opportunities for exploration Starfleet could provide him. Thinking he most likely wouldn’t pass the officers’ entrance exam, Kevin decided to take it and to his surprise received a very good grade. 

With a new career opening up in front of him, Kevin felt a new kind of purpose and responsibility and began taking what he was doing with his life more seriously. Already interested in astrophysics, he enrolled in the Starfleet Sciences Division. Following his graduation, he was assigned to the Warp 2 Neptune-class Triton as science officer where he served until 2147 before transferring to the Warp 4 Intrepid-class Ganymede. He served on the Ganymede for six years before transferring to Starbase One’s science department.
