Appearance

Korgh is described as somewhat shorter than the average Klingon male, and in his middle age has put on a degree of weight, having shifted his primary role to commanding his vessel and attending ceremonial functions. Notwithstanding, those who underestimate him are sure to suffer the unexpected power of his wrath as he remains a capable swordsman and formidable Klingon warrior.

Starfleet Intelligence dossiers list his physical description as having a predominantly square facial structure, a small scar above his left eye and a caranial carapace pockmarked with old wounds, adding to the definition of his ridges.

Subjective descriptions from embedded assets state that he has both a regal and intimidating presence.

Personality

Starfleet Intelligence has very little information on Korgh’s personality as a person.

Records show he is regarded highly as a fearsome Klingon warrior, distinguished in a great deal of battles and highly decorated.

Tactically, he is known for his patience and guile and typically will spend a great deal of time learning his enemy before rushing into an engagement.

When backed into a corner, however, Korgh is known for his aggression and violence of action, often being compared to a wounded targ when facing forces of greater strength than his own. These tactics are proven in blood, and popular tales are recounted of how he has, on at least one occasion, taken his enemy by surprise, utilising aggressive hit and run tactics, making his detachment’s numbers seem greater than reality to the enemy.

He is known for being loyal to a select few Klingons, mostly those within his inner circle, but in particular, the House of Korloth, having pledged his own house’s loyalty through decades of fighting side by side with its members.

Korgh is also known for his affinity for the advantages of a smaller vessel, particularly the B’rel class Bird of Prey, which serves as his flagship. While his station and his prestige could easily earn him command of a more powerful vessel, he is noted as expressing his preference for the B’rel as its size affords an additional flexibility that other vessels in the empire sorely lack.

This would also be commensurate with his preference for a small inner circle of trusted advisors and crew.

History

Early Years (2328 -2340)

Korgh was born in the Q’onos city of Kl’alath. By human calendars, the exact date of his birth is thought to be the 29th February 2328, and therefore a leap year by the Gregorian calendar.

He is the eldest of two brothers, with his father being the Patriarch of his family’s house: the House of Wov’Sech.

His brother, M’rav, was born three years his younger, making Korgh the rightful heir to his father’s title.

Korgh and his brother had a typical upbringing for Klingon nobility, and both entered warrior service in their early 20s.

Early Service (2340-2369)

Korgh initially served aboard vessels loyal to his father’s house, cutting his teeth in a Pre-Khitomer accord’s Klingon empire. Though Korgh initially had a strong opposition to the Federation-Klingon alliance, he was taught humility and changed his opinion for the first time when he heard of the destruction of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C at Narendra III.

Korgh is quoted as being truly humbled and moved by the Federation’s sacrifice, and from this point onwards began to visualise how a Klingon Empire could still be relevant with the Federation as allies.

In 2369, Korgh’s first and only child was born, Vekrah. Her mother would die in childbirth, leaving Korgh to raise his daughter alone.

Fatherhood (2369 – 2373)

Following his wife’s passing, Korgh returned to Q’onos and maintained a largely administrative position within the Klingon governance while he focused on raising his daughter.

Stricken with grief over his wife’s untimely death, Korgh became a pacifist for a short period of time. An unusual concept amongst Klingons, however, he struggled with the thought of leaving his only offspring an orphan. This decision would attract significant ridicule and shame upon his honour as a warrior.

Dominion War (2373-2375)

Upon the outbreak of the Dominion war at the empire’s doorstep, Korgh was initially opposed to rejoining his brethren for glory, focused on 4-year-old Vekrah, he felt unable to abandon her to go off to war.

It wasn’t until his Father Insisted on his participation, under threat of expulsion and disgrace, did he agreed to fight. Vekrah moved to his father’s estate for the remainder of the war. Korgh would not see her for nearly two more years.

Korgh was assigned to a B’rel class bird of prey commanded by an ally of his Father’s: Ma’vok son of HIqQIch, where he quickly distinguished himself and rose to the rank of la’ and First officer by the conclusion of the war in 2375.

Korgh participated in many of the glorious battles of the war, including the Klingon offensive at the Second Battle of Chin’toka, where his ship would be destroyed along with the entire allied fleet. His personal efforts to save his Captain and several of his crew earned him his promotion to First officer at the conclusion of the battle. As soon as Ma’vok son of HiqQich obtained a new vessel, he stood by his side for the remainder of the war.

Return to Q’onos & Continued KDF service (2375-2380)

Returning to Q’onos, Korgh was held as a war hero amongst many of his comrades for his valour in battle.

His commanding officer Ma’vok, earned a seat on the High Council. Korgh was unproven in his new rank, having only served a few months as an officer, and he found himself subordinate to a new captain from the house of Ma’vok where he continued to serve until the house was dissolved into the House of Jel’pok, and Korgh returned to serve aboard the ships of his Father’s house.

During this time, Korgh remained mostly in the service to the KDF, reignited as a warrior by his taste of battle in the years before.

By 2380, Korgh had earned his own command and a promotion to HoD’

House Civil War (2383-2384)

In May 2383, Wov’Sech, Patriarch of the House, passed away from natural causes, leaving his legacy to be claimed by Korgh, as the eldest of the two brothers.

Quickly, M’rav opposed his brother’s accession to head of the house on the basis that he considered his brother disloyal to the empire, having stepped away from Warrior duties after the death of his wife, and even accused him of conspiring with a traitor to the empire, Ma’vok of the house of Ma’vok.

In the years prior, Ma’vok, Korgh’s former captain, had been assassinated and lies had been spread about his honour, leading the council to declare him a traitor and dissolve his title and honour.

Korgh stood in his former captain’s defence posthumously, and the disagreement between the two brothers soon descended into a civil war within the house.

For nearly a year, skirmishes were fought, and Korgh declared his brother his rival and a traitor to the empire.

To resolve the dispute, the House of Korloth stepped in as arbiters and divided the house equally between Korgh and M’rav, effectively conceiving two new houses in their own right.

It was the only possible course of action, as neither side’s claims could be evidenced or disproven, and their conflict risked triggering larger turmoil.

Despite this, Korgh remained loyal to the House of Korloth, having discharged their duties as arbiters honourably and sought to preserve some of his father’s good name.

To this day, however, the Houses of Korgh and M’rav remain adversaries.

IKS Ki’tang (2384-Present)

Korgh retained possession of one of his father’s vessels, the IKS Ki’tang, a vessel that distinguished itself as the sole survivor of the second battle of Chin’toka during the Dominion War.

When she came of age, Korgh invited his daughter Vekrah to serve aboard his vessel, where she remains to this day as his second in command and closest advisor of his inner circle.

Korgh never had any further interest in seeking a mate or a wife, and as such, unless Vekrah takes a mate herself, his bloodline will end with him.
