Julien Valois

Commander Julien Valois is the XO of the USS Tempest. A seasoned officer with a long career of starship service, Valois was brought aboard the Tempest to try to curb some of Captain Pentecost’s more irreverent and protocol-bending tendencies. While pleasant and polite, nobody has ever accused Valois of being possessed of an over-abundance of imagination. He is cautious and disciplined, running a ship with a strong hand, and much more accustomed to border tensions, patrols, and local politics than the weirdness of the unknown.

A native of Mars, his family were killed during the synth attack in the 2380s, including his wife and children. Valois has since remarried, starting another family, but he keeps his personal life under close wraps for a man clearly very devoted, despite his distance. Records note Valois was born Julien Renard, changing his name after the Attack on Mars to honour his maternal family, all of whom were killed in the attack.
