Summary
Evelyn Pentecost is the captain of the USS Tempest. An anthropologist and historian by training, Pentecost has spent long years on the far-flung frontiers of Federation space and beyond, carving out a career as an explorer and scholar. While her reputation as a scientist rings with accolades and findings, and her service record speaks of dozens of Starfleet discoveries, she has also earned no small amount of professional notoriety. There’s no strange new world or historical puzzle Pentecost will hesitate to pursue, and while she’s an ardent defender of the Prime Directive and her research ethics, Starfleet protocol is sometimes left by the wayside on missions of exploration and adventure.
She’s known for her charismatic leadership and affable personality, though these are sometimes used to ride roughshod as much over her own crew as rival scientists or enemies faced on the frontier. For all of Pentecost’s tendency to play the ingenue, the buffoon, the affable scientist, the bon vivant, this all obscures a keen mind, and unquenchable thirst for discovery.
