Bravo Fleet
Summary
A former Tal Shiar refugee and Fenris Ranger, she is hoping that joining Starfleet will better allow her to help those in need, as long as it doesn’t take her individuality.
Appearance
She has short black hair and icy green eyes, and a slight build that belies her strength. She does not enjoy wearing uniforms, so she only does when she is required, but it is always clean and precise.
Personality
Having been groomed by the Tal Shiar from an early age, Dathasa is used to watching from the shadows, and doesn’t typically show her full hand. She usually comports herself with composed precision, more deliberate than cold. Her body language is tight, as she does not like wasting words, movement or energy. She has a strong moral compass, even if she doesn’t verbalize it. Ethically, she is pragmatic and empathetic, often choosing to fight for the powerless. Her loyalty is hard earned, but once given is unyielding. She is analytical and adept at reading people. Having seen hoe terrible means can be hidden by lofty goals she is skeptical, even of Starfleet’s ideals, but not dismissive.
History
Born on Romulus in 2377 to a pair of mid-ranking Tal Shiar operatives, she was raised in a privileged but rigid household. By six, she had already started being groomed for Tal Shiar service, with loyalty, surveillance and control being emphasized.
Just before the Romulan Supernova, her parents were stationed far away from Romulus, on a secure installation. This is when Dathasa begins to doubt the Tal Shiar’s teachings, as she watched her parents do nothing to help civilians in need.
In the post-supernova chaos, Dathasa’s parents continued to serve with what was left of the Tal Shiar, and as such, her rigorous training continued in observation, cryptography and manipulation. By 16, she had realized the Tal Shiar were not protectors, but predators, guarding their power. On one off world assignment, she intercepted a covert refugee trafficking operation with which her parents were involved in. This is when she began planning her escape.
At 18 she hatched her escape plan, sabotaging a security data node during a field operation and fleeing with false credentials. For the next two years she hopped around the collapsing neutral zone, dodging assassination attempts, until she met Dranoj K’Mpecta, a Klingon and member of the Fenris Rangers, battling slavers outside Federation jurisdiction. The Rangers gave her a way to use the skills imbued from her parents to help people and do some good.
She serves the Fenris Rangers now as a specialist in infiltration, cyber ops and counterintelligence. After teaming up with Captain Scott Bowman and the USS Leif Erikson, she has decided to accept Captain Bowman’s offer to join Starfleet.
