Summary
Doctor Gail Jacobs is a keen young officer with plenty of drive and ambition. Most of that ambition lies in helping her fellow officers through the traumatic times of the Dominion War. Gail originally became a criminal psychologist to work on more nefarious happenings, but soon found herself pivoting into a different role as the conflict began. Gail is an expert in criminal personality types, such as NPD, Sociopathy, Psychopathy and other personality disorders.
Appearance
While Gail may look around twenty five thanks to some part-Vulcan genetics, she’s actually closer to forty. She has thick, wavy brown hair and chocolate eyes. Standing 5’9″ she is on the trimmer side weighing just under 140lbs. She has a long, lean neck, pink/white human skin and pointed ears. Gail is often mistaken for being fully Vulcan from the ears, but a quick display of emotion puts pay to that assumption.
Personality
Gail is perhaps sometimes a little bit keen to get into the nitty gritty of someone’s personality in a slightly academic way. While she is not unkind, she is privileged and has had to adjust to helping people who are on the right side of the law, rather than predominantly criminals. Gail loves to use long descriptive words and has to temper that sometimes too just to make sure she’s understood. Gail is an academic and can be a little blinded by her ambition and enthusiasm.
Outside of work Gail is generally fun. She’s jovial, witty and approachable and is a little bit of a ladette.
History
Gail was born on Earth in 2337. Her father is Human and her mother half Vulcan. Living on Earth and coming from a stable and happy background there wasn’t much to perturb the popular and charming Gail whose Vulcan ears got her attention as a child, attention she was able to morph into popularity rather than bullying by being adept at managing the situation around her and perceiving things in people to her own benefit. Driven by her parents who wanted her to succeed in academics, Gail was originally studying to become a doctor, but her world view was adjusted slightly when her best friend’s father died in suspicious circumstances. Seeing not only what this did to her friend but to the local society around them Gail became interested in criminology and pivoted her studies to psychology. In 2355 having left high school as valedictorian Gail was accepted to the University of Cambridge to study criminology, moving on to a doctorate in criminal psychology in 2358. In 2363 she was headhunted for Starfleet, and having enjoyed the studying life agreed to commit to another four years at the Academy, being uncertain exactly what she wanted to do with her chosen profession. Passing out in 2367, Gail initially was based on earth as part of the Judge Advocate General’s office, investigating suspicious events and crimes within the fleet. With the war brewing in 2372 Gail was moved to Starship service, using her skills to advise on tactics, politics and diplomacy and was given a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade for effective work. She was assigned to the USS Denver as a counsellor in 2375 to aid with the pressure the crew was under after their many difficult experiences.
