Anyanka Harrison

Exploring space is a serious business and no one would doubt the seriousness of Anyanka Harris. A woman of several decades of service in Starfleet and a life of law enforcement with the Federation Security Service before that, her storied career has shown her the worst the galaxy has to offer and garnered her a reputation as a no-nonsense officer. Beneath this outer armour, however, lies the heart of a curious and hopeful explorer who has become somewhat jaded by the struggles she has endured. A veteran of the Dominion War and with an extensive career dealing with pirates and criminals she is cool under pressure and decisive in action.

On the surface, she seems cool and aloof. Yet despite this cool and steely personality her friends and crewmates remain steadfast despite her blunt no-nonsense manner, knowing that when the chips are down Anyanka will lead from the front.

The third child of eight siblings she found her position in the ‘middle of the pack’ allowed her a great deal of freedom in her childhood, being oft left to entertain herself for hours on end whilst her siblings were the focus of their parent’s attention. Filled with an inquisitive nature and an astute, observant mind she found herself disappearing into the mystery section of her parent’s vast library. There she found her love of the unsolvable, a love that would later lead to her involvement in Federation Security and later Starfleet Service.

Fifty years later Anyanka is a confident and direct officer, with an attention to detail unsurpassed by many of her colleagues. She prizes commitment and dedication to the cause and rarely suffers unnecessary distractions or tomfoolery. Outwardly she is slow to trust and quick to correct mistakes, sometimes with little subtlety.

On the surface, she may appear cold and unfeeling but the galaxy has taught her the dangers of lowering her personal shields. Once you’ve won her trust, however, she’s a fierce, staunch and capable ally.
