Dekos Gai

Dekos was born on Betazed in 2350 to a loving mother and father, Lele and Vuvo respectively. They were both politicians, and good ones at that. Dekos was unique, even in his own culture, due to him being born with his telepathic abilities. It made his infancy difficult, as he struggled to control his abilities, and the wave of others thoughts were always in his mind. It made him struggle to use these talents growing up, but all things considered, Dekos had a happy childhood; full of light, laughter, love and learning. Dekos was smart, emotionally intelligent, and eager to learn. He did so frequently, studying all he could and absorbing knowledge freely. His parents knew that he would outgrow their little planet, and he did. When he turned 17, he enlisted in Starfleet. And he quickly went through the academy efficiently, finishing in just under 4 years with a focus in the medical field, a minor in security specializations. He was immediately recruited in to Starfleet Intelligence. His aptitude for understanding people, along with his innate empathic and telepathic abilities, combined with his prowess in security training and medical procedures, made him a unique candidate for intelligence operations. He served for only 2 short years as an intelligence operative, dealing with interrogation of criminals and investigating potential crime on Starfleet planets and bases.
