Summary

Sek ain’t a lady and isn’t afraid to throw her small weight around. Though short and stout, her posture is confident and her voice commanding. Her snout perks up from her firm mouth and jawline, she often sports twin braids, and her hands show a history of handling her own business.
Ever the livewire, Sek’s life motto says, “Work hard, play harder.” As the kid sister to the scion of a respectable Tellarite shipping union, she is at home among hustle and bustle. When there’s no natural excitement, Sek is prone to make her own. Her penchant for risk-taking has made her a habitual gambler and a frequent patron of seedy establishments where such activities can be found.

History

Born in 2364 to wealthy Tellarite shipping magnates, the warp lanes of the Federation are as familiar to Sek as her own veins. She was raised in modest luxury with the finest hands-on education and apprenticeship. For the first 9 years of her life, she was expected to one day inherit Peth Freight Union along with her older brother Greavin.
At the height of the Federation-Klingon War, spring of 2373, Sek’s parents were attacked and ultimately killed when their freighter was attacked by a Klingon raiding party. The loss of her parents irrevocably changed Sek’s life forever.
Executors of the Peth estate groomed Sek’s brother Greavin to take up the mantle of the family business. However, Sek ultimately wound up pursuing a different fate. Within a decade, she found herself applying to the Starfleet Academy with wishes to resist Klingon imperialism.
The chip on her shoulder spurred her on to noteworthy grades. Not only was she flight-rated for most vessels in modern production runs, but her upbringing in the heart of the shipping industry showcased in her innate navigational and administrative skills.
Graduation with honors led to her being appointed Chief Flight Control Officer on the Luna class USS Ganymede for over a year. Her distinguished service demonstrated to the fleet that she was wasted on a single vessel and would best serve in a supervisory role under a sector commander. When Starbase 471 was commissioned, Sekhem’s name was on the short list of candidates for Chief Flight Controller.
