Teka 'Merope'

The blue skies of her human grandparent’s ranch in Kansas were the backdrop to Teka’s formative years, often taken up by her grandfather on his daily rounds of the expansive farms and ranches she relished flying before she could confidently run. Initially reluctant to join Starfleet following the deaths of both of her parents during the Dominion War, she constantly found herself drawn to the thought of flying above distant worlds at the edge of the galaxy. After several years working with the Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems as a test pilot, where she assisted in the development of new impulse and manoeuvering systems for a range of smaller craft, the itch became too strong and she joined Starfleet, eager to see differently coloured skies.
