Aoife McKenzie's Rank Record

  • Promoted to Captain

    • The rank of Captain is a huge achievement. It represents a huge level of commitment to the Bravo Fleet community and a determination to forge ahead with making it a better place for all members. Furthermore, and perhaps more importantly, it shows a consistency in the rank holder’s contributions to Bravo Fleet. All in all, it’s certainly no mean feat. As the final non-flag rank, we expect and have confidence in our Captains to act as model members of our community with others looking to them for guidance and support.

I am therefore proud to recommend Jess for promotion to this most auspicious rank. I am without doubt of her worthiness of this accolade, as someone who has proved her dedication and capability on numerous occasions. As she ascends, it would be malapropos not reflect upon the journey she has been on to get here.

Joining Bravo Fleet just under a year ago in April 2021, Jess wasted no time in getting involved with just about everything she could. She has been particularly involved with the RPG side of fleet activities, rapidly becoming a duty ribbon producing beast through her characters on the Hippocrates game and later the Altai.

The ribbons never stopped coming as Jess became a household name within Task Force 86. Her stories often included a familial element to them, frequently mixing elements of late 24th/early 25th Century American Earth culture with action packed interstellar adventures. This made for riveting reading, and it has been wonderful to follow the adventures of the Sandoval family as her writing has evolved all the way through to her most recent commands; the RPG USS Denver and the solo fiction USS Crazy Horse. From Lieutenant Junior Grade through to Lieutenant Commander, Jess made mincemeat of every ribbon requirement and activity metric going.

Fleet Actions and Campaigns are where Jess has really gone to bat for Task Force 86, and as Task Force Commanding Officer I am exceedingly grateful for her efforts there! Most notably, her standout writing and competition entries in the Echoes of the Tkon Fleet Action are what triggered her most recent promotion. Never one to rest on her laurels, however, her time as Commander has seen her achieve a Medal of Achievement, a Silver Palm and a Meritorious Service Cross. Since being awarded the latter on February 20, 2022, Jess has hammered out a further 36 duty ribbons and 55 service ribbons. To the extent that I feel it’s possible to quantify the time and effort Jess has put into keeping activity ticking within the fleet, these awards speak for themselves.

So, Jess, it’s hard to believe it’s nearly been a year since you sent your first message in the Task Force 86 lounge! If this is what you’ve managed to accomplish in a mere 12 months, then I’m sure we’ve all got a lot more to look forward to as we sail along with the rest of the fleet into 2022 and beyond.

      Welcome to the Captaincy!

    • Jess is a very solid writer. She’s made a big impact on Task Force 86 with her tales of the Sandoval dynasty, and her more recent additions to our fleet action have been great to see. Not only has Jess been active with fiction writing, she has also carried out a great deal of posting activity as a member of the USS Altai game. Since her last promotion on June 17th, 2021, she has posted enough to earn herself 12 duty ribbons. The variety of her writing has shown her to be multifaceted and versatile; I really hope she can continue to churn out these excellent stories for a long time to come. Other milestones Jess has passed on her journey through Bravo Fleet so far include reaching level ten on Discord. She has also listed a veritable smorgasbord of ten characters on the BFMS, along with a couple of well developed biographies to go along with them. That’s not all, though. Jess has not shied away from getting involved in our competitions on offer, having entered 12 in total since June. This is indicative of someone who is willing to get stuck into almost everything on the BF menu, and the kind of member we absolutely want to keep coming back to our community day after day. Incidentally, Jess does just this! She’s a regular contributor to the group chat, and a determined person keen to overcome any difficulties she might face in adjusting to new ways of doing things. Thanks for keeping up the positive attitude, Jess! It’s my pleasure to promote you to Lieutenant Commander, and I hope you have a lot of fun with your new avatar ship.

  • Promoted to Lieutenant

    • Since her last promotion on June 4th, 2021, Jess has been busy. Since then, she’s earned 13 Service Ribbons, 8 Duty Ribbons and an Action Medal; an impressive haul in just under two weeks! She has recently reached level 7 on the BF Discord too, continually engaging and brightening up our community. She now has five characters listed on the BFMS, and she has certainly shown her ability to create well-developed and interwoven biographies and backstories. Some really impressive output here, and long may it continue!

  • Promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade

    • Orlaith, or jess 91481 as she is known on Discord (where she’s reached level 6), has been a consistently friendly and helpful presence in the fleet. She is a member of the graphics team and has created some brilliant avatars on request. She has also been busy writing over on Relay Station Bravo, earning 14 Service Ribbons with her excellent fiction: The Matriach (Sandoval Family), which you can check out at https://forums.bravofleet.com/index.php?p=/discussion/174/the-matriarch-sandoval-family#latest5/31/21.

Orlaith has been actively writing mission posts too. She has earned 9 Duty Ribbons for her activity on the USS Hippocrates game. She has also recently joined the USS Altai, where she has quickly become a very active poster. I’ve really enjoyed reading her action-packed posts and fiction so far, and I’ve no doubt she will continue to make excellent contributions to the fleet. We’re lucky to have her in TF86!
