Promoted to Captain

  The rank of captain signifies an enormous achievement for all of those members who are so dedicated as to have achieved it. It represents substantial personal activity and dedication to our organization. Khaled al Rashid (aka Tom) is one of the fleet's most consistently engaged members. For his contributions to the Echoes of the Tkon Fleet Action, he earned a Silver Palm for activity joint writing, solo writing, and competitions, indicative of his wide variety of interests in Bravo Fleet. Since his last award, he also earned a further 10 Service Ribbons for his movie-era fiction. For the entirety of his time since his last promotion, until a few weeks ago, Tom also ran the USS Avenger RPG. Running such a game is no small feat, and through his service there he's enabled many other members to engage with one another and earn activity ribbons of their own. A combination of leadership and personal activity is required to earn this rank, and Tom has more than earned it through the actions listed above. For consistent dedication to Bravo Fleet, I am pleased to nominate Khaled al Rashid for promotion to captain! Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

  Khaled al Rashid, also known as Tom, is responsible for managing Bravo Fleet’s entire graphics service. He is an integral part of both the Internet Office and Bravo Fleet as a whole. A few months ago he passed his one year anniversary as the leader of our graphics team. Serving on fleet staff, especially the Internet Office, for that long is no small achievement and he is now one of the longest serving Graphics Directors Bravo Fleet has ever seen. Since his last promotion in March 2021, Tom recruited two new artists to the team and worked with me develop a Graphics Policy that provides a framework for graphics requests and determines appropriate use of our images. He also personally fulfilled a total of nine avatar requests, a little less than half of the total requests (and the most any of our artists completed) in that period of time. Offering a graphics service is a challenge for any organization as large as Bravo Fleet. Each individual request takes an extraordinary amount of time, skill, creativity, and attention to detail. Whether he’s fulfilling requests himself or managing the team behind the scenes, Tom’s proven his abilities as both an artist and a leader. The success of Bravo Fleet’s graphics service is truly a testament to Tom’s hard work and dedication. Congratulations, Tom! You’ve earned it!

Promoted to Commander

• Tom has been an active member of Task Force 93 since the beginning of the new model that started in April of last year. Since then he has racked up 27 duty ribbons between his game the USS Avenger and another game that he is a member of. He has also done fiction writing on the forums earning himself 25 service ribbons. He has also entered in 11 competitions placing in 8 of those. He has also earned a Meritorious Service Cross award for his work as the Graphics Director. He is always willing to help others out whether it be in graphics or other areas when he has a moment to spare. Because of this, I believe he deserves this promotion to the rank of Commander.

  Tom, also known as OneTrekMind, stepped into the role of Graphics Director in August 2020 and has become an invaluable asset to the fleet. At the time, the Graphics Team consisted of a few Bravo Fleet Command members who helped out during their free time – there was little organization and even less structure. Tom brought the team back to operational status and played a vital role in making the graphics service what it is today. Our graphics service is a group effort, but with many members serving in other positions, the responsibility fell on Tom to keep the team organized. He has successfully performed this duty, even managing to keep BFC members on task fulfilling requests. Tom is a gifted artist and has proven his leadership abilities time again.
